All Night Gambling in Colorado

Good news to casino fans in Colorado – back in November, state voters in Cripple Creek, Central City and Black Hawk approved of Amendment 50. This Amendment allows cities to expand gambling by keeping casinos open later. Along with the Amendment, casinos will now have some new features.

According to Associated Press, voters all agreed to boost the betting limits from $5 to $100, add craps and roulette to casinos that already have poker, blackjack and slots, and allow gambling to go on 24 hours a day. (Previously, gambling was stopped between the hours of 2 and 8 a.m.) These changes are going into effect this month.

Economists believe that the change will produce a $30.6 million boost in revenue for 2009-2010. In 2007-2008, casinos collected $180 million in gambling tax revenue alone. This is fantastic news for people in Colorado who want their casinos open all day, every day.  This may also make Colorado an attractive spot for gamblers looking for excellent casinos. The next Las Vegas, no, but the next Atlantic City? You never know.
