Lawmakers across the globe have been turning to online casino revenues in an attempt to combat the global economic crisis. While many European nations are already using online gambling to fill gaps in budgets and avoid tax increases, the US continues to put off enacting such a plan.

iGaming Business has released a new report on the rise and growth of the online gaming industry. The new report clearly demonstrates that by the end of 2010, the online casino market will be worth upwards of $4.7 billion globally in terms of gross gaming yield and it is estimated that if the current rate of growth continues the industry could be worth as much as $7.1 billion by the end of 2014.
