Brazil and Portugal Face Off Today In One of the Most Anticipated World Cup Matches

altBrazil and Portugal will face off today in one of the most anticipated matches of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Brazil currently sits at the top of its group with six points and has already qualified for the knockout phase of the competition but the South American team will be seriously handicapped tomorrow by the loss of their star striker Kaka who was sent off in the previous match versus the Ivey Coast. Brazil remains one of the favorites to win the Cup and have so far conceded only two goals while scoring five.

Portugal on the other hand is in a more precarious position. Despite a record setting seven goals to none victory over North Korea on Monday they will still need to pick up the pace if they want to make it into the knock out phase of competition. If they can manage to beat out Brazil tomorrow it could go a long way to assuring their continued success in the tournament and we expect them to pull out all the stops.

A draw may be the best result for both teams. If that were to happen Brazil would still finish as group champion and Portugal would be able to progress at the expense of the Ivey Coast.
