Connecticut casino Mohegan Sun is currently looking to employ an additional 500 people to help make room for new table games which they hope to have up and running by the end of the spring.

The site which currently employs over 1,000 people is primarily looking for new dealers to run the additional games which will include blackjack, poker, craps, roulette and baccarat.

The response from the community has already been overwhelming with nearly a thousand applicants. People can still apply online at mohegansunpocono.com but management cautions that there is no job guarantee for applicants.

To be ready for the games the casino will be hosting its first dealer’s school in mid-February. Overseeing training operations will be new Vice President of Table Games Jeff Walker. Walker started off as a dealer in Atlantic City and has a history of training employees for the facility. “He’s gone through the ranks of table games,” said Chief Executive Bobby Soper.

Mohegan Sun will pay for all training but there is no guarantee that even if you make it through the courses you will have a position although that is the general idea. “It’s very likely if you go to the school and you make it through, you’ll be hired,” said Soper.

All new dealers will be paid an hourly rate according to the application. However new supervisors will be paid a salary. Definitely might be a good thing to check out if you are seeking employment in the area.

If that doesn’t work out for you Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County are also looking to add more members to their staff. They are currently seeking out 220 new hires to help with additional games.
