The revelation that a Chinese group of players have been cheating on PokerStars has lead to the site refunding all of the players affected by the cheaters for a total of $2 million in refunds according to posters on the online forum twoplustwo.com.

According to several threads on the forum an unusual amount of Chinese players joined the same "Double or Nothing" high stakes Sit & Go tournaments. According to reports the members of the Chinese ring would sit together at the same table and share hole card information and dump chips to each other in order to assure that they would all cash out in the money.

The situation was apparently made public by one of the accused cheaters. "Jane0123" started a thread back in May to complain that PokerStars had suspended his account without cause and kept his winnings and when it was revealed that the group was scamming the site many applauded the sites decision. 
In late June, the site distributed $587,000 to players who had been bumped out of the tournaments results by the group but the compensation amount didn't sit well with many players which is why the site increased the refund to $2 million.

While PokerStars would clearly like the issue to go away, several posters continue to report that new Chinese accounts are being made and that they appear to be playing in similar styles. While some would suggest blocking Chinese players entirely others like "JTM210577" think that they have other solutions. 
"What about a new SNG registration system?" the poster wrote. "Like when 100 players are registered in a pool, stars (sic) will open 10 DoNs with all the players randomly entered at the tables?"

Certainly sounds like a good solution. We'll just have to wait and see and how PokerStars decides to handle things.
