SEGA which just a while ago made its leap into the online gambling world has recently acquired a plethora of games from online casino provider CTXM. This new software along with their already licensed Playtech software should give them an edge on many of their more established rivals in the near future.  SEGA Games’ full entrance into the competitive online gambling market is one of the most anticipated events in years.

Most of us have a long enjoyable history with the company remembering games from our younger days available on such classic systems as SG-1000, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn and Dreamcast. It is this sense of nostalgia that the company hopes to cash in on. When its sites become fully operational they will be re-releasing such great titles as Virtua Fighter, House of the Dead, Fantasy Star and Nights along with it.

The name SEGA itself certainly provides a lot of weight. The brand is one of the most respected in the world when it comes to gaming. Founded in 1940 it helped propel the world from ancient coin-operated amusements to in home entertainment systems, it introduced the first full-body-experience arcade game, and at one point cornered 65% of the North American Market for gaming. There is no doubt that the company has a long history of bringing entertainment to its customers. This experience should go a long way towards how they handle this new expansion and is already showing itself in many of the steps they are taking.

With cutting edge gaming technology they hope to provide consumers with something slick, stylish, highly enjoyable and player friendly. When three such strong brands as SEGA, Playtech and CTXM work together, there certainly are a lot of expectations involved. SEGA truly has all of the elements they need to take the online gambling community by storm. Will they rise to the top or take a misstep and fall prey to their competitors? We’ll find out soon enough. Either way it will definitely be news worthy.
