Bwin Interactive Entertainment AG has announced the launch of a new app that will allow bettors at Bwin.com to place wagers on a wide variety of games using their Apple iPhone. The new Bwin Live service is currently available to bettors in the UK and Austria via the Apple's iTunes Store and it is expected to be released in more countries in the coming months.

Mixed Martial Arts fans prepare yourselves for one of the biggest events of the year. On September 25th the UFC will host UFC 119: Mir vs Cro Cop. Bodog has released the early odds for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards which will air later this month. Aside from sporting events, awards shows are the most popular source of betting for the general public. The nominations for the show were announced last month but it took awhile for such sites to make an accurate prediction as to who they think will win big.

The New York Jets are apparently the newest team on free agent Terrell Owens's radar, as the NFL wide receiver continues his search for a team next season. A series of reports and sources within the NFL are reporting that the Jet's have contacted T.O.'s agent Drew Rosenhaus with intentions of signing the high-profile receiver.

The details of the proposed contract have not been made public; however, insiders are saying that the Jets are offering T.O. a nice chunk of change.

If Owens does opt to join the Jets he will play alongside a star-studded team including Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards, and Jerricho Cotchery.

Nonetheless, Owens' next move in the NFL has been unknown since the end of his one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills. He is still considering offers from several other NFL teams including the Cincinnati Bengals, who as of now seems to be the favorite to sign the six-time Pro Bowler.

League insiders believe the Jets stand less than a "20 percent chance" of landing Owens. The Bengals are offering an incentive-laden contract. Owens has until Wednesday to agree to a deal.

New York is the perfect place for him if he wishes to continue his off-the-field activities like modeling and hosting his own reality show. The NCAA has announced the new format for March Madness and internet gambling sites may benefit from the new rules since they leave plenty of time for book makers to fill out the brackets and circulate them. Earlier this year, NCAA officials confirmed that they would be expanding the tournament field to 68 teams and now college sports organizations have decided how the new field will play out.

The last four seeds will face off in two early games. This group will most likely be made up of automatic bids to small conferences and it will essentially eliminate the two teams which aren't prepared to play effectively on a national stage. The move has already drawn some criticism from open-tournament advocates who feel that seeding is designed to enrich the power conferences at the expense of smaller more deserving school.

As for the other early games they will feature the last four at-large bid recipients which generally represent the some of the larger conferences.

"You're not going to come up with a model that is going to appease every constituency out there," said NCAA committee chairman Dan Guerrero. "But we felt that this model provided the opportunity to do something special for the tournament."

Once the four early games are complete the remaining 64 teams will begin play as usual. Due to the early start the release of the brackets will need to be completed by Tuesday evening just two days after the Sunday night release of the seedings. Paul the Octopus aka Paul der Krake continues to enjoy widespread attention. The animal oracle is at first glance a common octopus living in a tank at a Sea Life Centre in Oberhausen, Germany but since 2008 he has proven to be 86% accurate in his predictions of who will win World Cup matches.

Paul's career began with a rocky start back in 2008 when he successfully predicted four of six Euro 2008 matches involving Germany. Since then his predictions have proven to be a lot more accurate with his predictions for the 2010 World Cup being 100% accurate.

Prior to each match Paul is presented with two boxes containing food. Each of the competing teams is assigned one of the boxes which is marked with their national flag. Paul then chooses which of the boxes he would prefer to eat from first. This team is judged to be the predicted winner of the game.

By the time the final match rolled around, many bettors were literally placing their bets based on Paul's predictions. Bookmaker William Hill made a prediction of their own that Paul's picks would yield punters nearly half a million dollars in winnings.

"There has been a remarkable amount of interest in Paul the octopus and I would be very surprised if there were not some lucky punters celebrating after the final," said Graham Sharpe, a spokesman for William Hill.

The odds of all eight of Paul's predictions being accurate, including the final, was placed at 3,000 - 1 on William Hill. This year was the first time that Paul has been tasked with picking a game in which Germany wasn't involved and many wondered if he would be able to do it. He proved that he could.

Whether his predictions are just a case of really good luck or something else, Paul the Octopus has garnered millions of viewers from around the world becoming nearly as big of a spectacle as the athletes themselves.

Brazil and Portugal will face off today in one of the most anticipated matches of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Brazil currently sits at the top of its group with six points and has already qualified for the knockout phase of the competition but the South American team will be seriously handicapped tomorrow by the loss of their star striker Kaka who was sent off in the previous match versus the Ivey Coast. Brazil remains one of the favorites to win the Cup and have so far conceded only two goals while scoring five.

Portugal on the other hand is in a more precarious position. Despite a record setting seven goals to none victory over North Korea on Monday they will still need to pick up the pace if they want to make it into the knock out phase of competition. If they can manage to beat out Brazil tomorrow it could go a long way to assuring their continued success in the tournament and we expect them to pull out all the stops.

A draw may be the best result for both teams. If that were to happen Brazil would still finish as group champion and Portugal would be able to progress at the expense of the Ivey Coast.
