A fight involving casino staff and Carlton football players, Ryan Houlihan and Andrew Walker broke out at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. Both players were fined $5,000 and harshly disciplined by the Blues for their inexcusable behavior.
The two athletes got into an argument with a woman spectators believed to be Houlihan's girlfriend right before a fight broke out involving casino staff and at least one security guard before police arrived on the scene to calm everyone down and bring the situation under control.
Walker was forced to leave the property immediately and was escorted out of the building. Houlihan and his girlfriend were allowed to return to their room since they were both staying at the casino's hotel.
Yesterday, Chief Executive Greg Swann released a statement referring to the casino incident as "unacceptable and a poor reflection on the Carlton Football Club."
"It is an even greater disappointment to have this type of behavior at a time when we are making considerable improvements to the club on and off the field."
The Crown Casino is where the Aussie Millions Poker Tournament is held every year.
