Seven months ago, the Russian government put new laws into effect that closed down the doors of virtually ever casino in the country. Many businesses were forced to shut down and Russia designated certain zones where gambling would be allowed.
Now, after many months of boredom for casino enthusiasts in Russia, a brand new casino has opened its doors for the first time since the new laws were enforced.
Casino Oracle was opened last weekend by Royal Time Company in Azov City, right near the edge of the Azov Sea. The casino property features 1,500 square feet of space and more than 200 slot machines.
The location also hosts a variety of table games and guests can also enjoy a restaurant and bar. Later this year, 11 rooms will be open for guests to stay and by 2017 a 233 room hotel is scheduled to be built.
The operator of the new Casino Oracle has plans to provide free transportation from the cities of Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don, but the travel time and seemingly low amount of publicity has gotten some investors a bit worried.
More and more are questioning the ability for these new gambling zones to attract enough business for them to stay afloat.
Only time will tell how these new designations will work out for the casinos of Russia. Many are seeing this first casino as a kind of gauge of what to do next.
