One of the most popular brands in the casino industry, Harrah's Entertainment, has announced Friday their agreement with 888 Holdings; a London based online gaming company, to provide their services to the United Kingdom.
Harrah's Entertainment will be expanding to the UK with its Caesar's Casino and World Series of Poker names. 888 Holdings will be providing Harrah's with online poker and casino services as well as providing transaction processing and customer support to customers in the UK.
The financial terms of agreement are not yet known for sure, but 888 Holdings is calling it a "multimillion-dollar" deal. Plans for Harrah's future are easy to see as they have been involved with several moves to broaden their online casino empire.
Also, Harrah's wants to have an advantage to bring online casinos into the US should the United States legalize online gambling.
They hired former online gaming executive Mitch Garber back in May to oversee a new branch which promotes the World Series of Poker brand online. Garber was the CEO of PartyGaming, a London Stock Exchange company that owns the PartyCasino and PartyPoker websites.
Even if the United State's market doesn't open up in the near future, Harrah's is still making a smart move entering into the eager market of the United Kingdom.
