Jadestone Networks had some exciting news to announce this weekend. They revealed to the press that they are to be the exclusive World Series of Backgammon (WSOB) qualifier network. This is big news for the company which has seen dramatic growth since the launch of their backgammon network back in June.
They have already made some strong partnerships with companies like Bwin, NordicBet, Betoto and PAF and are on their way to establishing even more. It was recently announced that they would begin a new distribution deal with Unibet in the near future.
"We are making breakthroughs and we have established the Jadestone backgammon network as the biggest backgammon game in town," said Tobias Nissen, Jadestone General Manager. "With new partners coming on board and with huge offline events such as the $480,000 WSOB Championship, we expect to maintain growth through 2010 and to continue to lead the industry."
The WSOB is a fairly recent world phenomenon. Started in 2006 by TV producer and backgammon player Andy Bell, it has become one of the largest backgammon events in the world with full coverage worldwide on ESPN and in Europe on EuroSport 1 and 2. Some big name players include Morten Holm, Masayuki "Mochy" Mochizuki and Mike "Falafel" Natanzon.
The main event will be offering the second largest prize pool ever for the game with over $480,000 up for grabs in this year's final "shoot out." Buy-ins for the event are set at $7,500. The entire thing will run from February 6 thru the 7th at the Adam's Street Club in London, England. If you're interested, seats are still available so get in now while you still can.
