Las Vegas Continues to Prepare for Online Casino Regulation in the US

altThe UK is the largest portal for online gambling at the moment and despite a few slip ups many residents have seen the benefits of online casinos. If the U.S. were to open their doors to online casinos, there is very little doubt that it would mean more competition from American casino providers.

Already companies like Harrah's are beginning to open their doors to international players. Just last week the major casino company announced the release of a bingo site for international players and it is expected that other companies may soon follow suit.

The problem seems to be that right now, the U.S. is sort of at a standstill. Despite recent efforts by many states to expand their gambling laws, the U.S. government itself has yet to see any major piece of legislation pass.

Despite the success of online gambling regulation across the world, many Americans are skeptical about changing the current laws. They believe that it would only create more gambling addicts and make it easier for those with an addiction to lose money since they would no longer be required to drive out of their way to get access to casinos.

Others however, like those in Las Vegas, are excited at the prospect. Since online casinos are cheaper to own and operate, many of the land based casinos we know and love are making the move towards online casinos. In preparation for potential legislation, many are expected to launch international online casinos in the coming months. Right now, Nevada lawmakers are drawing up regulations for the industry and as soon as they get the go ahead from the federal government, they should be ready to launch nationally on a large scale.

They hope that by making sure their state laws are up to date they will be able to show the federal government just how serious they are about making online gambling safe and effective for everyone. They already have strict laws for land based casinos so the transition would require very few changes should the practice be allowed to come into fruition.

More details as they become available.
