 The River Guaranteed $3 Million Poker Series will kick off today at the WinStar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The tournament series as the name suggests, offers an impressive number of guaranteed prize pool events. Nine of the events on the schedule offer more then $30,000 in prize money and the Main Event offers a whopping $2.5 million.
The Main Event will feature three Day 1 events. Each opening day will begin at 11 a.m. CST and players will start with 10,000 in tournament chips with blinds starting at 25-50. The top 10% from each opening day will return for Day 2 of the event on September 5th and the final 20 players from Day 2 will move on to the championship round on September 6th.
In addition to the regular prize money, players will have a chance to win a 2010 Porsche Cayenne through the River Poker Series point race. Players will earn points depending on their ranking in each event and the player with the most points at the end of the series will be crowned the overall champion.
Here's a look at when each of the events will begin:
Monday, Aug. 23: Event No. 1 ($330 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 guaranteed)
Tuesday, Aug. 24: Event No. 2 ($550 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 guaranteed)
Wednesday, Aug. 25: Event No. 3 ($440 No Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha $40,000 guaranteed)
Thursday, Aug. 26: Event No. 4 ($330 Pot-Limit Omaha $30,000 guaranteed)
Friday, Aug. 27: Event No. 5 ($1,050 No Limit Hold'em $150,000 guaranteed)
Monday, Aug. 30: Event No. 6 ($330 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 guaranteed)
Tuesday, Aug. 31: Event No. 7 ($440 No Limit Hold'em Bounty $50,000 guaranteed)
Wednesday, Sept. 1: Event No. 8 ($330 No Limit Hold'em $50,000 guaranteed)
Thursday, Sept. 2: Event No. 9 ($2,100 No Limit Hold'em Championship $2.5 million guaranteed)
