The Bodog branded online gaming sites, Bodog Poker, Bodog Casino, and Bodog Sportsbook are no longer accepting US players as of this morning, December 14, 2011.
The decision to stop accepting US players at Bodog branded websites was made earlier this year following the critical industry changes that took place in the aftermath of Black Friday, when three major online poker rooms were indicted by the US Department of Justice.
As of today, the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group (MMGG) will have a different name. The sites are still run by the same operators, but the new brand for US players is now Bovada. The look of the new Bovada branded gaming sites is similar to that of Bodog so it shouldn't be too difficult to transition to the new look.
If you are a US player trying to visit Bodog, you shown a page which will redirect you to the new gaming site, bovada.lv. The page reads, "If you previously held an account at this website your account and funds are still accessible at the Moriss Mohawk Gaming Group's new website: www.bovada.lv"
In a recent press release at CalvinAyre.com, they explain further exactly what has taken place:
"We understand MMGG will now operate under its new brand, Bovada, at the following website: www.bovada.lv, such domain being given to MMGG pursuant to its rights on expiry of the licensing agreement.
The Bodog brand is confident MMGG's customer account information and funds will continue to remain safe and secure, as it has done since MMGG entered its original agreement with the Bodog Brand in 2006 and we would like to wish MMGG the greatest success in its new venture."
