Bristol Palin has been defying all odds during this season's Dancing with the Stars. At the start of the season she had the second worst odds of winning and now as the field has been dwindled down to just five contestants her odds are looking better than ever.
Voters have made all the difference in this year’s competition with many judge favorites being sent home without making a misstep leading many to question whether or not the Tea Party is aiding the daughter of Sarah Palin. While some may laugh at such an idea it would make sense, after all, Bristol's dancing once again receive the judges' worst score last week but votes saved her from the chopping block.
“The Tea Party wave that swept Republicans to a U.S. House majority may also be shielding Bristol Palin from elimination on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars,” says Andy Fixmer of Bloomberg News.
He isn't alone in this thought process. “There’s a strong popular movement behind Sarah Palin at the moment and she’s receiving a lot of support from the Tea Party,” said Conrad Green, executive producer for the program. “It’s entirely possible some of those people are behind Bristol for political reasons.”
Palin currently has 8/1 odds of taking out the competition on Sportsbook.com.
“As we know, the Tea Party can get out the vote,” Brad Adgate, research director at New York advertising company Horizon Media Inc, told Bloomberg News. “You’ve got to suspect there is a lot of grass-roots support pulling her up from the bottom rung.”
Dancing with the Stars is one of the most popular and most wagered on shows on television. Last week more than 19.9 million viewers tuned in to watch the stars compete and the season finale is expected to attract even more viewers.
There is still time to wager on your favorite contestants. We here at Casinofan recommend wagering at Sportsbook.com.
