Australian tourists are in for an adventure unlike any other. Tourism pioneers Charles and Philippa Woodward have announced plans to build a $1 million adventure tourism project called Cairns ZOOm over the Reef Hotel Casino. The project will include challenge rope courses, internal and external dome walks, a dome lift, and the option to zip line over a live crocodile pen.
While the zip line adventure sounds extremely risky, Mr. Charles assured everyone during the announcement that the project would meet the highest safety and security standards and that the welfare of the animals and birds involved in the project would be paramount.
"This will not be opportunity to tease or aggravate the crocodile," Mr. Woodward said. "There will be no way that Goliath will be able to leap up and grab anyone and it will be impossible for anyone to fall in."
He said that he has had the idea for the project for quite some time and that he was waiting for the economy to improve but that he has grown tired of waiting.
"We're going to help revive the economy," Mr. Woodward said. "Cairns needs something like this and I think it is the best thing to happen here in years..."
"The addition of the Cairns ZOOm will help to boost the image of Cairns, especially due to the unique nature of the attraction and its ‘world first' status.
"It will also be a boost and help rejuvenate the Cairns CBD."
The project certainly promises to be unique, educational, and exciting. While it may be a little too wild for the average tourist there is no doubt that thrill seekers will flock to the new exhibit when it opens.
As always, stay tuned to Casinofan for more news and updates.
