Casino Rama Holds First Sanctioned MMA Show Ever Held in Ontario

altCasino Rama will make history this weekend when it hosts the first sanctioned mixed martial arts show ever held in Ontario. Tickets to "MMA: The Reckoning" have already sold out, and more than 5,000 people are expected be in attendance. Fights will include Josh Burkman vs. Jordan Mein in the heavy weight main event and Chris Horodecki vs. David Castillo in the lightweight co-main event.

"It's a real honour to be able to come to Ontario finally and do MMA which is a sport that's had a real base here as far as the fighters, trainers," said veteran referee John McCarthy.

"It's time for MMA here and it's great that the Ontario Athletics Commission is now going to be running the events, sanctioning everything and showing everybody what MMA is really all about. ... It really doesn't matter what promotion it is or anything like that. It's about putting the right fighters together that put on great fights and I think in those two (main and co-main event) fights alone, you're going to see what MMA is all about."

Considering the community's response it is very likely that we will see more fights take place at Casino Rama in the near future.

As always, stay tuned to Casinofan for more news and updates.
