eCOGRA has released statistics on the disputes resolved by the group's accredited casinos over the past year. A total of 846 disputes were submitted online to eCOGRA in 2010 which shows a 10% increase from the year prior. Of the disputes, 67 complaints were rejected up front and a further 125 were found to be fraudulent, non-specific, abusive or anonymous in nature. A total of 654 complaints were considered to be valid and the vast majority of said disputes were handled in a timely manner.
The eCOGRA report breaks down the complaints into set categories. 44% of the disputes concerned cash-in problems, 25% concerned bonus issues, 19% concerned locked accounts and 12% were categorized as other. 43% of disputes were resolved in favour of the players which is very good number considering that, "A fraudulent player syndicate was caught out by sophisticated security systems, resulting in its members submitting allegations which subsequently proved to be false, but had to be painstakingly followed up."
eCOGRA's approval system covers hundreds of online casinos, online poker rooms, online bingo halls, sports betting sites, live dealer casinos, affiliates programs, and mobile casinos and on average an eCOGRA approved gambling site submitted only 0.38 disputes per month in the year 2010. This number is extremely small compared to sites which have not been approved.
