Teen pop star Justin Bieber, recently cut his trademark shaggy locks, and gave one to Ellen DeGeneres who then sold his hair clippings on eBay for a whopping $40,668. The charity auction, which was hosted by DeGeneres, came a week after the Canadian heartthrob appeared on "Ellen" and presented her with a signed box containing a lock of his hair. All proceeds from the auction went to the Gentle Barn Foundation, an animal rescue organization based out of California.
It shouldn't surprise anyone that Bieber's hair fetched such an amazing price. He is one of the biggest pop stars in the world. What is surprising though is that the reported winner of the precious locks was none other than GoldenPalace.com, an online casino known for its outlandish promotions.
What could an online casino possibly want with Bieber's hair trimmings you might ask? Well apparently, the Golden Palace says that they plan to put the hair on tour at Bieber concerts in an effort to raise even more money for charity and perhaps some publicity along the way. Not sure how many people would pay to see a lock of someone's hair when they already have the chance to see the real person in full but we'll just have to wait and see whether or not things work out for them.
As always, stay tuned to Casinofan for more news and updates.
