The Sahara Hotel and Casino closed its doors last month but there is still time for you to own a little piece of Las Vegas history. The property will be kicking off a 60 day liquidation sale on Thursday and more than 600,000 items will be up for grabs. The Sahara was the last of the Rat Pack era casinos left in Las Vegas and now everything must go.
"We sent out 25,000 fliers to hotels and motels all across the U.S., and have been getting calls from New York and Florida. People want to come to the sale to get a piece of the Sahara," said Donald Hayes, president of National Content Liquidators.
The two month liquidation sale will include everything from game tables, a walk-in cooler, slot chairs, statutes, and ornate chandeliers to information booths, silver ware, paper towel dispensers, and yes even power cords. The only thing that will not go up for sale at the Sahara is its roller coaster. Items start at as little as one dollar and throughout the 60-day event, customers will have the opportunity to roam practically every part of the property.
Even if you're not interested in purchasing anything, having the chance to walk through the property one last time and see all the parts you've missed could turn out to be the experience of a lifetime.
The sale starts Thursday morning and will run through August. Admission is $10 the first 4 days and everything will be sold "as is." Please note, only cash and credit cards will be accepted.
As always, stay tuned to Casinofan for more news and updates.
