Herbst Gaming, the owners' of the "Terrible's" line of casinos, has announced that it will be formally changing its name to Affinity Gaming, LLC. The company's new owners will attempt to distance themselves from the company's recent bankruptcy and the Herbst family, who will no longer be associated with the company. All of the casinos will retain their familiar names and will operate in much the same way they always have with a few minor changes. According to Chief Executive Officer David Ross, the change in name is primarily a way for the company to, "to make a fresh start" and "reflect our new corporate identity."
Affinity Gaming owns and operates fifteen casinos across three states.
Known for being an every man's casino, they have both hotels and RV parks for their guests. The majority of their casinos are located in Southern Nevada but they also have locations in Missouri and Iowa.
Prior to its bankruptcy, Herbst was more than $1.1 billion in debt but now that it has emerged from the long process Affinity Gaming is just $350 million in debt which is not that bad by casino standards.
It should be interesting to see what direction the new owners take the company in.
As always, stay tuned to Casinofan for more news and updates.
