The empty space left behind by the FBI's crackdown on online poker is already being filled by hopeful sites. Hustler launched its own online gambling site, Hustler Casino, on the same day that federal authorities shut down such prominent poker hubs as PokerStars, Full Tilt, and Absolute Poker.
"It's just one of those phenomenal coincidences that happen very rarely in a marketer's career where something so monumental occurs in the online gaming community as what happened today," said Al Underwood, marketing director for Hustler Casino in Gardena. "It opens up a space for us, and people who enjoy this online activity at least have a place to go that is familiar, legal and safe."
Hustler Casino is not likely to be shut down because it uses a point system that allows players to play for free and eventually win real money prizes. According to the company, the site has been in development for months. The poker portion of the site will focus primarily on No Limit Texas Hold'em table games and tournaments and many celebrity guests are expected to hit up the tables in the coming weeks.
