Jeff Voyles and Randy Zinkil are attempting to launch a new television network for gaming fans. The Gaming News Network which is being described as part CNN, part ESPN, and part Travel Channel would be the first and only 24-hour gambling news network.
The pair, with the help of gaming backers, is currently touting the product to Cox and other major cable providers but so far they have yet to be picked up.
Voyles who first thought up the concept as he was wading his way through various online news publications said, "It just didn't make sense, going through all this stuff. If I took all this content and put it in a 24-hour news format, I could coordinate a less fragmented delivery of this information."
Voyle is aware that many entrepreneurs with similar ideas have failed in the past but he is undaunted. Voyle who also owns a company that develops table games and marketing strategies for casinos told reporters that, "This is not like sports or finance, where you can easily find experts all over the world...This is a very specialized industry."
He also pointed out, that modern television and camera editing equipment are far less expensive than what they were when CNN and Fox News first went on the air so launching a media enterprise is more affordable than ever before. The network hopes to draw attention from the estimated 60 million people who visit U.S. Casinos each year and with the surge of popularity for poker, it is entirely possible that the network could prove to be successful. For now it is only a matter of getting cable networks to give them a chance.
We can all help them in their efforts by getting the word out. Call your local cable provider today and express your interest in a gaming news network!
As always stay tuned to Casinofan for more news and updates.
