altLas Vegas visitors may soon be allowed to play their favorite casino games from the comfort of their hotel room.

Nevada legislators are considering a new bill that would allow casinos to provide their patrons with mobile devices which would allow them to play anywhere on the casinos' property. Mobile devices are already in use at bars, restaurants, lounges and other common areas in Nevada casinos but for the moment they can only be used in public areas. The new bill would basically just allow casinos to increase the range of the machines so that they would also work in hotel rooms.

"A No. 1 location in which patrons want to use the mobile gaming device is in their guest room," said Cantor Gaming CEO Lee Amatis.

So far, no one has testified in opposition to the bill, but one of the greatest concerns people have is that the devices could fall into the hands of underage players. One of the many safety precautions being considered is having the machines periodically asking players to re-enter their PIN numbers and verify that they are in fact the ones playing.

The bill which is currently known as AB294 is sponsored by 13 members of the Assembly and so far has yet to be passed through any of the committees.
