PokerStars and Full Tilt will no longer be part of the future of online gambling in Nevada. Following news that the sites were indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice on charges of money laundering and fraud, Wynn Resorts and Fertitta Interactive (the parent company of Station Casinos) quickly terminated their partnership deals with the sites and distanced themselves from the whole matter.
Michael Weaver, a spokesman for Wynn Resorts made the announcement that their planned alliance with PokerStars was over on Friday citing the criminal indictment. While Caren Bell, a spokeswoman for Fertitta Interactive, stated that their deal with Full Tilt Poker, "was contingent upon the passage of federal legislation legalizing Internet poker, along with its internal due diligence and a finding of suitability for gaming licensure," which basically means if they can't get a license then they are no use to us.
It appears that online gambling sites that pulled out of the US market early will now have a better shot of getting in on the action once legislation passes. It's unclear who Wynn and Fertitta Interactive will choose as their new partners.
