The State of Nevada has announced a new cooperation agreement between the Nevada Gaming Control (NGC) Board and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission. It's unclear exactly what the new deal entails but limited online gambling has been available in Nevada for some time and companies such as Caesar's Entertainment have already begun to offer real-money gaming in international markets so it's likely that Alderney Gambling is aiding the NGC in understanding online gaming's inner workings.
Mark Lipparelli, Chairman of the NGCB, commented on the matter saying, "We are fortunate and appreciative of our relationships with governments around the globe similar to what we have developed with the AGCC. As our licensees continue their global expansion and among new business sectors, we must adapt as an agency. Formalizing these distant relationships is a benefit to all involved from many perspectives including cost, time and quality."
Meanwhile André Wilsenach, CEO of the AGCC, offered a bit of additional insight saying, "Cooperation with other regulatory bodies around the world is fundamental to being a successful regulatory body. Considering the Nevada Board's long-standing history and experience of regulating gaming, we are very pleased to have formalized our cooperation with the Nevada regulator. We are looking forward to working with them in the areas of investigations, compliance and developing technical standards."
It appears that Nevada may be preparing to become the preeminent regulator of online gambling if US federal legislation passes but only time will tell if it all pans out.
