The New Year's Celebrations in Las Vegas are expected to be increased compared to last year due to an upcoming UFC fight and increasing optimism for economic growth in 2011. More than 320,000 guests are expected to travel to sin city for tomorrow night's big celebration. With them, they will bring the strip more than $177 million dollars in added revenue. And that's not even including the gambling revenue!
Hotel rooms have been selling out all over town and occupancy is expected to climb to 97.7 percent. New Year's Eve has always been a booming time for the Strip, but this year will be even more so thanks to the coinciding UFC 125, which is one of the most highly anticipated fight nights of the year. The event, which is scheduled for Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, has nearly sold out this year with more than 10,000 tickets already purchased.
Must see events on the Strip include a massive fireworks show, which will go off at midnight on New Year's Eve, big celebration parties at virtually every club, celebrity performances and more. One of the most anticipated celebrity performances is scheduled to take place at the Cosmopolitan which will feature ColdPlay and Jay-Z. This will mark the Grand Opening for the casino resort.
Other celebrity hosted parties on the Strip include Rihanna, at the PURE NightClub, 30 Seconds to Mars at the Pearl Theater in the Palms Hotel and Casino, B.o.B and Bruno Mars at the Jet NightClub in the Mirage Hotel and Casino, Jay Sean at the Bank in the Bellagio, Nelly at HAZE Nightclub in ARIA Resort and Casino and also Diddy at LAX in the Luxor.
It is no wonder that with all these breathtaking performances and events, Las Vegas has been ranked number 1 on the list of top New Year's Eve destinations by booking websites Travelocity and Priceline.
