LeBron James has decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers- that is if there is any truth to the rumors that have been flying around lately. If it turns out to be true it could mean a serious headache for sports bettors as the odds for next year's NBA championship would be in complete upheaval.
LeBron's managers have arranged a one-hour special tonight to cover the announcement of which team he will tie his future to and word has that LeBron has chosen to fly to Connecticut for the show a fact that further heightens the idea that he will be moving on to a new team.
Phoenix Suns star Jared Dudley told TMZ Live that LeBron has chosen to join Amare Stoudamire in signing with the New York Knicks. Dudley said that an unnamed source said that LeBron told the Knicks to expect him and as far as he is concerned that is a confirmation of LeBron's decision.
LeBron certainly has a lot of options on the table. He has been given the chance to join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami, but it seems unlikely he would want to play on a team in which he will never serve as the star player. Cleveland has also made an offer but its inability to draw a sign-and-trade with Bosh or Carlos Boozer may have dimmed LeBron's fervor for playing there.
Whichever team LeBron chooses it is sure to leap in the odds of winning next year, so bettors who can correctly anticipate the King's next team will have something of an advantage moving head. Many sites have even begun taking bets on which team he chooses. If you're interested in getting in on a piece of that action then head on over to Bodog.com.
