The Americans triumphed over England 1-0 in 1950 at the World Cup in Brazil. Obama was reported to have said that if history proves correct, he'll be sipping Britain's finest lager by 5pm.

England and the US tied though 1-1 so one can only assume they both enjoyed each other's country's best brews.
