altTennis icon James Blake has become the latest athlete to be named a Friend of Full Tilt. The US Davis Cup captain and 115th ranked male player in the world will now serve as an ambassador for the site and will bring his competitive spirit to the felt.

Blake who plays both singles and doubles started his tennis career in 2000. In 2002, he became the first African American to win a title of any kind in Cincinnati's 101-year history when he took down his first ATP Masters Series title playing doubles with now retired tennis pro Todd Martin. Things looked up for the Blake as he continued to perform admirably but in 2004 he suffered a series of tragedies that would throw his entire life off course.

While practicing for the Masters Event in Rome, Blake slipped on the clay and collided with the net post breaking his neck. Still recovering from his critical injuries Blake found another reason to grieve when his father passed away from Stomach Cancer. During that time, Blake developed shingles, which temporarily paralyzed half his face and blurred his eye sight, but not to be one to take things laying down Blake returned to the court in 2005 and despite everything, managed to win his third ATP tour title at the Stockholm Open.

Since that time, Blake has won numerous titles and served as a member of Team USA at the Beijing Olympics. His undying spirit has inspired tennis players around the world and now PokerStars is hoping he could do the same thing for poker players.

Join Blake and such pros as Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and Tom "durrrr" Dwan on the virtual felt. Sign up for an account with Full Tilt Poker today!
