 UFC 127 will take place this weekend in Australia. The main event will feature B.J. Penn taking on Jon Fitch in a welterweight battle but the most interesting matchups are on the docket will be the highly publicized Jorge Rivera vs. Michael Bisping fight.
All week Rivera (18-7) has been spitting verbal attacks against Bisping (21-3) in an attempt to gain a psychological advantage. His methods appear to be working because Bisping was seriously fired up earlier this week at a press conference. He told reports, "I'm fighting in the premiere fighting organization in the world and I'm trying to behave accordingly. I'm a professional fighter; I'm not an idiot in the schoolyard, making up silly rhymes and jokes and making stupid videos...This is a press conference, by the way, Jorge. This is what you do. I know it's your first time being involved in something like this. Welcome to the big leagues. After this you'll be back to the undercard, believe
me." To which Rivera remarked, "... I'm ready whenever you're ready. I'm done talking."
Rivera who has won his last three fights is likely the bigger and harder striker in this match up but Bisping has experience on his side and his jiu-jitsu skills should prove to be formidable if he can avoid any serious blows. Bodog Sportsbook is favoring Bisping with odds at -325. Rivera is labeled the underdog with odds at +250 but if he wins there could be some serious profits in it for sports betting fans.
Bodog is currently taking bets on all of this weekend's match ups as well as prop bets on how certain details of the event will go down.
