altIceland volcanic ash may help online casinos. Air travel in Europe has been highly disrupted by the falling debris and the ash cloud is expected to cause huge delays over the next couple days with more than 28,000 flights already affected. Those stuck at airports or hotels may turn to the online gambling industry to keep themselves preoccupied.

The United Kingdom which has been especially affected by the eruption is well known for its poker enthusiasts and largely popular online casinos. Since the delays mostly occurred over the weekend there were plenty of promotions and tournaments going on for people to join in on.

What better way to spend some of that free time? Mobile gambling has become very popular in recent months with applications for the iPhone and other mobile phone providers quickly becoming common place. Anyone with a specialty cell phone or an internet connection would have the opportunity to log in and join in on the fun.

The only downside would be the added competition. With so many people playing, prizes were sure to be generous and there were plenty of different options on the table. Just a few of the many promotions going on included a poker tournaments, slot contests and jackpot bingo.

If you were one of those who got in on some extra gaming because of the delays, do not forget to comment or share your stories in the forum. Who knows, you may be responsible for easing the boredom of some other poor traveler.
