Tiger Woods has been receiving a bit of extra attention from the poker community as of late. Irish online poker site Paddy Power has apparently been trying to woo the big name celebrity athlete. Reputedly they offered the 14 times major champion player $75 million dollars to sponsor their website, only to be turned down.
In many ways, now couldn't be a better time to try and get Tiger on their team. Some argue that just the fact that they are trying to woo him when his name is still all over the gossip line could spell good news for the site-whether or not they manage to land him.
"At this stage, when other sponsors seem to be ditching him, there's an opportunity there to step in. He's still somebody we would very much like to align ourselves to," the site said in a recent statement.
Before the recent incident that exposed Tiger's marital transgressions, the big name athlete was making more than $100 million a year in endorsements. Despite his lack of sponsors though, he hasn't been quick to take up the site on their generous offer.
The site isn't going to let his initial rejection despair them though in a recent statement from the Dublin-based poker site they said, "Paddy Power remains keen to work with Tiger Woods, and will re-engage with IMG. An enhanced offer will be made, the details of which will remain confidential."
