 In an effort to boost Party Casino's ratings and cross-gender appeal PartyGaming has hired on former athlete and TV celebrity Phil Tufnell to serve as their first ever celebrity ambassador.
A spokesman for the site confirmed that it was his "broad appeal" that was the deciding factor in their decision. They believe that his former cricket success as well as his high profile career on such shows as ‘I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' will help them appeal to male and female poker players alike.
The ads are designed to highlight the range of casino games the site has to offer. They were created by Leeds based agency home and premiered on UK channel 4 during the premiere of Celebrity Big Brother. "I had a lot of fun making the ads," said Tufnell. "I'm hoping this is the start of a long relationship with PartyGaming."
Tufnell likes to fancy himself something of a poker player and wasn't afraid to brag about his card playing skills in a recent interview. "I understand Shane Warne is Down Under playing in a big poker tournament at the moment, wish I was there to take him on! He may have been able to turn a ball further than me but I can certainly turn a card better and if I don't at least I've got my own hair!," he bragged to reporters.
The celeb also showed an interest in working with PartyPoker sometime in the future. "I have advertised PartyCasino.com but I am also a keen poker player so have huge interest in sister site PartyPoker.com," he said hinting to the big named site.
