Progressive jackpots have long been a form of excitement for players new and old alike. The gambling version works very similarly to those found in children’s arcade games, with the popular game Cyclone being used as an example of the general principles for the purposes of this article. The progressive jackpots used in virtual casinos, online poker and slot machines work in much the same way. Every time someone plays, a portion of the profit is put towards the jackpot. Smaller prizes typically play a key role as they are rewarded to players to encourage them to stick around for awhile. The operators do this because they know that by giving up a small portion of the profit, they will actually make more in the long run by attracting new players along the way. The more simple or straight forward the game is, the quicker the jackpot can accumulate. The larger the jackpot, the more exciting game is. It is a rather elementary format that can lead to some real profits. This leads to lots of fun for those playing for the big reward that will come at the end of the game.
