The Mohican North Star Casino in Wisconsin is set to make a major security upgrade to their facility. The new system designed by IndigoVision's partner Reliable Security Services will integrate CCTV, access control, intrusion detection and panic alarms over an IP network.
At the heart of this new system is IndigoVision's ‘Control Center' IP Video and Alarm Management software which allows security to quickly view live and recorded video from any camera on the premises as well as manage alarm systems making dispute resolutions more manageable and timely.
One of the cool new features of the system is that it will allow the casino to program certain cause-and-effects into the system allowing the computer to automatically take the necessary steps in the event of a security breach.
For example if the system receives an alert of an intrusion it will automatically look up and display the camera nearest to the point of entry. This allows security to get right in on the action. 50 card readers, numerous door contacts, panic alarms and intrusion detection alarms will all be connected through the MAXxess access control system via an Inovonics encrypted wireless network so no matter what the type of intrusion there will be a way of getting to the heart of it fast.
"The quality of IndigoVision's product and technology was demonstrated in an unusual way during the project," said Bill Miller, President of Reliable Security Services. "Due to an aggressive construction schedule, we only had 48 hours to fully test and commission the 450 camera system before handover. Amazingly, we succeeded!"
The new system should definitely make a huge difference to security staff who had until recently been forced to work with a slow VCR analog-based CCTV system. The casino is also happy to note that should they feel the need to upgrade again the new system will provide a strong platform to work off of.
