A retired woman got the prize of a life time just in time for her birthday. The undisclosed New York woman was visiting Las Vegas with her daughter for a pre-birthday celebration when the Wheel of Fortune Special Edition penny machine paid out more money then she'd ever dreamed of winning at a casino.

The woman says that the largest prize she'd ever won before at a casino was $600 so when the machine paid out $4,141,909 she was in disbelief. "This is hard to believe. In fact, I first thought I had won $4,000 until a casino host told me I had won that jackpot," she said to reporters.

The woman had been playing on the same machine for most of the evening not knowing how lucky it would prove to be. She took a break at some point to spend quality time with her daughter but all in all she was pretty steady with it making sure not to wander off.

She claims that after she returned to the machine from her break she put about $40 into the machine before she hit it big.  Just goes to show that persistence can be a virtue. The longer a machine goes without paying off the more likely you are to set it off after all.

When asked about her plans for how to spend the money the woman said that it would be a group decision. After she pays off her car she plans to get together with her large family of five children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren to map things out. To her, family is more important than any amount of money.

The woman officially turns 79 today, so we would like to send a Happy Birthday her way.
